TO ENABLE JAVA for PC



FireFox<LIST>
  • <LI>
  • Open Firefox</LI>
    <LI>
  • Click on the Tools menu then click on Options</LI>
    <LI>
  • Click on the Web Features image on the left</LI>
    <LI>
  • Now either Place or Remove the checkmark beside "Enable Java", based on your preferences.</LI>
    <LI>
  • Click Ok.</LI>
</LIST>Navigator 3.x<LIST>
  • <LI>
  • Go to "Options | Network Preferences..." from the main menu</LI>
    <LI>
  • Change to the "Languages" tab</LI>
    <LI>
  • To enable: make sure "Enable Java" check box is checked

    To disable: make sure "Enable Java" check box is unchecked</LI>
    <LI>
  • Restart the browser</LI>

Communicator 4.x <LIST>
  • <LI>
  • Go to "Edit | Preferences..." from the main menu</LI>
    <LI>
  • Select "Advanced" panel</LI>
    <LI>
  • To enable: make sure "Enable Java" check box is checked.

    To disable: make sure "Enable Java" check box is unchecked.</LI>

  • Restart the browser</LI>

  • Go to "View | Options..." from the main menu</LI>
    <LI>
  • Change to the "Security" tab</LI>
    <LI>
  • To enable: make sure "Enable Java programs" check box is checked

    To disable: make sure "Enable Java programs" check box is unchecked</LI>

  • Restart the browser



    Explorer 4.x <LIST>

    • <LI>
    • Go to "View | Internet Options..." from the main menu</LI>
      <LI>
    • Change to the "Security" tab</LI>
      <LI>
    • Select "Custom" and click on the "Settings..." button</LI>
      <LI>
    • To enable: make sure "Disable Java" is selected under "Java."

      To disable: make sure a setting other than "Disable Java" is selected under "Java." If you're not sure which setting to choose, select "High safety"</LI>

    • Restart the browser</LI>

    • Go to "Tools | Internet Options..." from the main menu</LI>

    • Change to the "Security" tab</LI>

    • To enable: make sure "Disable Java" is selected under "Java."

    Simply reloading the page, rather than restarting the browser, maybe sufficient under most conditions and browser versions.</LI></LIST>
ENABLING JAVA FOR MACINTOSH

  • Click on the Firefox menu then click on Preferences</LI>

  • Click on the Web Features image on the left</LI>
    <LI>
  • Now either Place or Remove the checkmark beside "Enable Java", based on your preferences.</LI>

  • For Mac OS X, download and install the latest version of <URL url="http://www.apple.com/java/">Java for Mac OS X.</LI>

  • For Mac OS 9 and earlier, download and install the <URL url="http://developer.apple.com/java/classic.html">MRJ 2.2.5. Note: WebCT Vista 3.0 currently does not support Mac OS 9 as a client operating system.</LI>

  • Select the arrow next to Web Browser to expand the options</LI>

  • Under Java Options select the option Enable Java</LI>
