The Word says that GOD HIMSELF is our banner. The scripture promises that, in the face of the enemy, God will raise a banner (Is. 59:19). That banner is Jesus ("In that day, the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples..." Is. 11:10). The banner is purple, the color of royalty, for Jesus is the King of kings. In the corner design is the suggestion of a Star of David because Jesus was of the royal tribe of Judah. Also in the corner design are compass points indicating that His Name is lifted up for declaration to the whole earth. The letters are silver to speak of His mission of redemption. Jesus said, "If I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men unto me" (John 12:32).
